DiscMedic

Use at your own risk, this has had 6 months of internal testing, but it may not be production ready for FileCore. UFS2 was originally our target, but if you get any issues there is a rollback option within the app to undo any changes it may break. Please feed back any bugs to the website’s bugtracker. We as a team want to make our software better.

Notice: DiscMedic was originally developed for the 64-bit platform, as we needed a tool to support UFS2 and the current disc-tool market had stated that they wouldn’t support an OS that had been created with the help of AI. We also understand the fear and concern surrounding AI, and therefore we believe in user choice.

A disc checking and repair utility for RISC OS 5 or later, with a desktop interface and command-line engine. Checks FileCore new-map and FAT12/16/32 volumes on hard discs, SD cards, NVMe and USB drives.

Choose a quick check of the map and tables, a full file and directory check, or a detailed report. Includes repair with undo files, report saving, boot-partition inspection and CMOS backup and restore.

Unpack the archive and run !DiscMedic. Read the supplied ReadMe, Help and Limits before use. Start with a check, back up important data before repair, and keep the undo file on another drive.

DiscMedic: drive selection, scan options and the results log. A quick check does not check every file and directory.

Bluetooth for RISC OS

New in 0.93: Now supports the UB4A dongles sold at the London Show, as someone brought the wrong ones… cough, Andrew! :)

*Notice: The tested Bluetooth dongles are the UB400 and, from version 0.93, the UB4A from TP-Link. Testing is currently on the Pi 4 and CM4. I’m currently extending this to the SDIO-based Broadcom Bluetooth built into the Pinebook Pro, and to i.MX6 as well. These should be completed in the next couple of weeks. During testing, I found that several dongles sold as CSR8510 devices were cheaper variants and were not always genuine. Yes, shocker — fake ones exist! I recommend buying a dongle with a genuine chip.

Version 0.93474 KB ZIPReleased 26 October 2026

Play sound through Bluetooth speakers and headphones (A2DP), and connect Bluetooth mice and keyboards, including classic and Low Energy devices, using a USB Bluetooth adapter.

Requires RISC OS 5 and a supported USB Bluetooth adapter: CSR8510 (TP-Link UB400) or Realtek RTL8761B (TP-Link UB4A). Realtek firmware is included. The package ReadMe reports testing on a CM4 with RISC OS 5.31. SharedUnixLibrary 1.16 or later is required; a copy is included.

Unpack the archive and double-click !Install. Includes the Bluetooth application and Configure settings plug-in. Audio uses SBC; headset microphones (HFP) are not supported in this version.
